THIRD TIME LUCKY IN CARRUM COAST GUARD RIVER RUN
Federal Member for Isaacs Mark Dreyfus QC MP and State Member for Carrum, Sonya Kilkenny MP will race for the third year running in the 6km Carrum Coast Guard Around the River Fun Run on Sunday February 25.
The Carrum Coast Guard is one of the great volunteer organisations of our community. Im excited to be running again to raise money for this fantastic institution of our community, Mr Dreyfus said.
Sonya and I have run in each of the Around the River Fun Runs since the race started in 2016. Ive been training on Mordialloc Beach after work and hope to beat my personal best in last years run.
State Member for Carrum Sonya Kilkenny said that she is looking forward to the event and the opportunity to beat Mark.
I have been training for a number of months now and recently finished my community run through the electorate of Carrum to raise funds for Breast Cancer Network Australia, Ms Kilkenny said.
I'd love to see an even bigger number of participants in this year's fun run, supporting our wonderful volunteers at the Carrum Coast Guard.
The Carrum Coast Guard was recently awarded a $14,000 grant through the Stronger Communities Program to rebuild their changerooms, after being recommended for the funding by Mr Dreyfus.
