SEAS THE DAY: MORDIALLOC SAILING CLUB SECURES $20,000 FOR DINGHY FLEET RENEWAL PROJECT

Federal Member for Isaacs Mark Dreyfus has welcomed news that the Mordialloc Sailing Club will receive $20,000 to deliver its Pacer Dinghy Training Fleet Renewal Project.

Mr Dreyfus recommended the project for funding under the second round of the Stronger Communities Grants Programme.

The Pacer Dinghy Training Fleet will be invaluable to the Mordialloc Sailing Club and will provide members of all ages and abilities the opportunity to develop their dinghy sailing skills, Mr Dreyfus said.

The Stronger Communities Programme provides grants between $5,000 and $20,000 and is available for projects that improve community participation and contribute to the vibrancy and viability of local communities.

Mark Dreyfus worked with a Community Advisory Committee to identify which ideas represented the best investment in our community, and then made a final recommendation on which projects should receive funding.

More information on the funding programme, including guidelines, is available at http://investment.infrastructure.gov.au/funding/scp/.
