Member for Isaacs, Mark Dreyfus said Tony Abbotts plan to cut the Renewable Energy Target will gut investment in the renewable energy sector, put upward pressure on electricity prices and increase carbon emissions.
Labor believes the Renewable Energy Target is a critical part of Australias response to climate change, Mr Dreyfus said.
The Renewable Energy Target has already delivered new investment and thousands of new jobs in Australia.
Tony Abbott has no interest in transitioning the Australian economy to a clean energy future, Mr Dreyfus said.
Carrum Downs based manufacturer ABM Combustion also rejected Tony Abbotts plan to cut the Renewable Energy Target.

ABM Combustion is a local manufacturer of gas flare and gas handling systems. Their products pipe and regulate the gas generated by waste from abattoirs, landfills and other industries, to equipment which converts the gas into energy.
