SENATE VOTES TO DEMAND BRANDIS PRODUCE BELL GROUP DOCUMENTS
Today the Senate has voted to demand George Brandis comply with a series of overdue requests to produce documents related to the Bell Group matter the dirty deal which could have dudded the taxpayer by as much as $300 million.
Senator Brandis has been far from transparent in this matter, and has blamed everybody but himself. The Senate has had enough.
Senators from the Nick Xenophon Team as well as Senator Lambie voted with Labor and the Greens to demand Senator Brandis comply with the Senates orders by 9:30am on Thursday, 16 February.
If he does not, he is effectively in contempt of the Senate.
It should be shocking, except we know that Senator Brandis is a man who has no qualms with misleading the Senate and treating his duties as Attorney-General with disdain.
If Senator Brandis does not comply, he will be required to front up to the Senate and explain why he is continuing to defy its orders.
