Russian Federation High Court Proceedings
On 15 June the Government enacted legislation terminating the Russian Federation’s lease for a proposed diplomatic presence next to Parliament House.
This morning the Russian Federation filed proceedings in the High Court challenging the validity of the legislation on constitutional grounds.
The Government will vigorously defend the legislation and will seek to have the Russian Federation’s challenge to it resolved by the Court as quickly as possible.
