Review of the Family Relationship Services Program
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Graeme Head AO to lead a review of the Family Relationships Services Program (FRSP).
The Australian Government invests $250 million per annum to provide a range of family law services to support separated and separating families.
The FRSP was set up in the mid-2000s and has remained largely unchanged since its introduction.
The Government is committed to ensuring family law services are meeting the needs of Australian families now and into the future. The review will include consultation with a range of stakeholders, including service providers and clients.
Mr Head’s extensive career in government administration, as the inaugural commissioner of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, Deputy Secretary of the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing and chief executive of three NSW government agencies, including as the inaugural NSW Public Service Commissioner, ideally positions him to undertake this important review. His experience spans policy, regulatory and central agencies, with a focus on social policy, environmental policy and public sector employment.
Mr Head will be supported by the Australian Institute of Family Studies in completing this important project.
The review is expected to be finalised in 2024.
