MALCOLM TURNBULL CANT ESCAPE THE BLAME FOR HIS SECOND-RATE NBN
Reports today that Communications Minister Mitch Fifield is blaming the failings of this Governments second-rate National Broadband Network on retail providers is just what you'd expect from this arrogant and out-of-touch Government.
The Minister having to explain himself to colleagues is further evidence that the Government is beginning to feel the pressure from the rising tide of discontent about Fibre to the Node.
Its because of Malcolm Turnbull's decision to rely on an ageing copper network for the rollout of his NBN that millions of Australians aren't getting the fast, reliable broadband they deserve.
Even his own Minister for Regional Communications, Senator Fiona Nash, has said: The Copper Age was 5,300 years ago, and that is where copper belongs.
Senator Fifield cannot dispute the facts. Last year the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) found that complaints about the NBN have increased by almost 150 per cent, and that the vast majority of the postcodes that recorded the most complaints are where Malcolm Turnbull's flawed copper-based fibre-to-the-node technology is being rolled out.
Malcolm Turnbull needs to own up to the Australian people that its because of him that they are enduring unacceptable connection delays and faults, slow data speeds, unusable services and drop-outs.
He knew FTTN was never going to deliver the speeds and quality services that Australians want and need, but they are rolling it out regardless.
Its no wonder then that NBN Co recently removed information about what kind of technology people will be getting when the NBN rolls out to their street. They don't want to have to tell Australians that they are receiving Malcolm Turnbull's second-rate NBN, who would?
Australians are paying more for Malcolm Turnbull's slow, unreliable and out-of-date NBN, and no amount of finger pointing and blame shifting can change this fact.
