DR BULENT HASS DELLAL AN EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR SBS CHAIRPERSON
Labor welcomes the appointment of Dr Bulent Hass Dellal as the new Chairperson of the Special Broadcasting Service.
Dr Dellal has already given exceptional service to the broadcaster as a board member for over six years and in his service as Acting Chairperson for the past year.
The SBS is an important cultural institution in Australia and holds a special place in the hearts of many people. Dr Dellals broad life experience, and commitment to community cohesion so Australia continues to be a multicultural success story, will enhance the great work already being done at the SBS.
Minister Fifield should now turn his attention to also appointing a permanent head of the ACMA, which has been vacant since last February,and filling the two vacant board seats at the ABC, which have been empty for 20 months.
