BRANDIS MUST FRONT COMMITTEE TO EXPLAIN BELL GROUP TODAY
The Labor Party, Greens Party, Nick Xenophon Team and Derryn Hinch have jointly urged Senator Brandis to appear at Senate estimates this morning and give a full account of his involvement in the Bell Group saga.
Last week, we learned Brandis had lied about when he first became involved in the dirty deal with the West Australian state government to dud the Commonwealth taxpayer of $300 million.
Clearing up this matter should be treated as a priority by Senator Brandis. If he has nothing to hide, he will present himself with a full explanation at 9am this morning.
Senator Brandis has used the cover of public interest immunity to conceal the full facts of the matter when it is actually in the public interest that the truth is known.
If Senator Brandis does not front up to this mornings hearing with a full explanation, he will be defying not just Labor, but the Greens and crossbench Senators.
Senator Brandis has already lied to the Senate he must not compound the contempt. Enough is enough.
