APPOINTMENT OF THE ELECTORAL COMMISSIONER
Special Minister of State, the Hon Mark Dreyfus QC today announced the appointment of Mr Edward Killesteyn PSM as the Electoral Commissioner of the Australian Electoral Commission.
Mr Killesteyn's appointment is for a period of five years and will take effect from 4 January 2014. Mr Killesteyn's initial appointment as Electoral Commissioner was made in January 2009.
I am pleased to announce that Mr Killesteyn's appointment was made in accordance with the policy for selecting statutory office holders introduced by the Government in 2008, Mr Dreyfus said.
