ALRC LEAK PROVES PORTER WRONG
If today's news concerning the landmark Australian Law Reform Commission report into the family law system is true, Christian Porter's failed plan to destroy the Family Court has been shown to be based on absolute lies.
According to today's Australian, the ALRC report which has still not been released by the Government contains a recommendation to create an entirely new court system. It also calls for greater specialisation in the family law system exactly the opposite of what Mr Porters failed bills tried to do.
Mr Porter first tried to deny that the ALRC report had any structural implications for the Family Court. Then he refused to make the ALRC report public, despite pressure being applied to crossbench Senators to vote for the bill.
Now we know why Mr Porter refused to release the report because he has been misrepresenting its contents all along.
Mr Porter's failed family court project has blown up in his face.
Labor calls on Mr Porter to release the ALRC report in full without delay. Once the full report is released, Labor will consider its recommendations carefully.
