TO JUMP OR NOT TO JUMP? THAT IS EQUESTRIAN
Federal Member for Isaacs Mark Dreyfus has welcomed news that the Mentone Pony Club will receive $19,000 to complete an upgrade of their cross country course.
Mr Dreyfus recommended the project for funding under the first round of the new Stronger Communities Grants Programme.
Im pleased to have backed in the Mentone Pony Club for this project, Mr Dreyfus said.
This funding will help the Club to get off and racing to upgrade their cross country course.
Im sure that the upgrade will be well supported by members and will become a favourite of the community in no time, Mr Dreyfus said.
This Stronger Communities Grants Programme provides grants between $5,000 and $20,000 and is available for projects that improve community participation and contribute to the vibrancy and viability of local communities.
Mark Dreyfus worked with a Community Advisory Committee to identify which ideas represented the best investment in our community, and then made a final recommendation on which projects should receive funding.
Round two of the Stronger Communities Grants Programme will open soon, Mr Dreyfus said.
Im interested in recommending the best ideas in our community so Im keen to hear from as many local community groups as possible about how they might spend this money.
I would encourage locals and community groups to begin thinking about any projects that they think would benefit our community and consider applying for funding.
More information on the funding programme, including guidelines, is available at http://investment.infrastructure.gov.au/funding/scp/.
