SERBIAN SPORTS CENTRE ALL ABOARD FOR GRANT
Federal Member for Isaacs Mark Dreyfus has welcomed news that the Serbian Sports Centre in Bangholme will receive $18,135 for the installation of new floorboards.
Mr Dreyfus recommended the project for funding under the first round of the Stronger Communities Grants Programme.
Im very excited to announce that the Serbian Sports Centre will receive this funding, Mr Dreyfus said.
The Serbian Sports Centre is one of the great clubs in our community and these new floorboards will be of enormous benefit to the Centre.
The Stronger Communities Programme provides grants between $5,000 and $20,000 and is available for projects that improve community participation and contribute to the vibrancy and viability of local communities.
Mark Dreyfus worked with a Community Advisory Committee to identify which ideas represented the best investment in our community, and then made a final recommendation on which projects should receive funding.
Round two of the Stronger Communities Grants Programme is now open, Mr Dreyfus said.
Im interested in recommending the best ideas in our community so Im keen to hear from as many local community groups as possible about how they might spend this money.
I would encourage locals and community groups to begin thinking about any projects that they think would benefit our community and consider applying for funding.
