MORDIALLOC BOWLS CLUB TO BENEFIT FROM NEW SUN SHADING
Federal Member for Isaacs Mark Dreyfus has welcomed news that the Mordialloc Bowls Club will receive $9,000 to install new sun shading.
Mark Dreyfus recommended the project for funding under the first round of the new Stronger Communities Grants Programme.
Im pleased to have been able to work with the Mordialloc Bowls Club to ensure this project received funding, Mr Dreyfus said.
This sun shading will be of benefit to all bowlers and local residents who use the club.
The Mordialloc Bowls Club is a popular club in our community and I am very pleased to be able to assist them in obtaining this grant.
This Programme provides grants between $5,000 and $20,000 and is available for projects that improve community participation and contribute to the vibrancy and viability of local communities.
Mark Dreyfus worked with a Community Advisory Committee to identify which ideas represented the best investment in our community, and then made a final recommendation on which projects should receive funding.
Round two of the Stronger Communities Grants Programme will open soon, Mr Dreyfus said.
Im interested in recommending the best ideas in our community so Im keen to hear from as many local community groups as possible about how they might spend this money.
I would encourage locals and community groups to begin thinking about any projects that they think would benefit our community and consider applying for funding.
More information on the funding programme, including guidelines, is available at http://investment.infrastructure.gov.au/funding/scp/.
