MARK DREYFUS AND TIM RICHARDSON DONATE $500 TO EDITHVALE CFA
Federal Member for Isaacs Mark Dreyfus today honoured his promise to donate $500 to the Edithvale Country Fire Authority if he lost to State Member for Mordialloc Tim Richardson in the 5km Edithvale CFA All Fired Up Fun Run held today.
Late in 2016 Federal Member for Isaacs Mark Dreyfus and State Member for Mordialloc Tim Richardson made a bet that they could outrun the other in the 5km Edithvale CFA All Fired Up Fun Run on 26 March 2017. The loser of the bet would donate $500 to the Edithvale Country Fire Authority.
I gave the run my all but didnt quite run fast enough to beat Tim home over 5kms, Mr Dreyfus said.
Im a man of my word and have today written a $500 cheque for the Edithvale CFA.
I am a big supporter of our CFA and am proud to be doing my bit to support this great community organisation.
I can assure Tim that Ill be back again next year ready for Round Two, Mr Dreyfus said.
I am very happy to claim victory in our bet, Mr Richardson said.
I thank Mark for his contribution to the Edithvale CFA. His contribution is part of a long Labor tradition of supporting the Edithvale CFA. Later this year the Andrews State Labor Government will build a brand new fire station for the brigade, to give it the facility it needs to continue its great service to our community and though I won our bet today, I will also donate $500 to the Edithvale CFA.
I thank Brigade Captain Graham Fountain and all of the Edithvale CFA team for their work in making this All Fired Up Fun Run the best yet, Mr Richardson said.
