ENOUGH IS ENOUGH ISAACS DEMANDS ITS NBN
In 2013 Malcolm Turnbull promised that the National Broadband Network (NBN) would be rolled out to every household in Australia by the end of 2016.
It is now 2018 and most parts of the Isaacs electorate are still without the NBN, while theareas that have been connected often suffer from inadequate speeds and other problems.
In late 2017 the Turnbull government announced that NBN Co. was putting an immediate halt to any new hybrid fibre-coaxial connections, pushing back the roll out of the NBN in parts of the Isaacs electorate by another six to nine months and costing taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars more.
Enough is enough, Member for Isaacs Mark Dreyfus said.
The Turnbull government promised us a faster, cheaper NBN, but our community has ended up with a slow and delayed broadband network at best and in many cases, nothing at all.
Our community is fed up with Mr Turnbulls pathetic excuses on the NBN, Mr Dreyfus said.
Just this week a new report came out showing Australias ranking in global internet speeds dropping down to 55th in the world because of Mr Turnbulls second-rate copper NBN.
Its simply not good enough. I am calling on Mr Turnbull to do whats best for residents and businesses in Isaacs and roll out an NBN that provides the speeds and reliability that he promised.
I encourage all local residents who want a world class NBN to sign my petition at www.change.org/p/malcolm-turnbull-isaacs-wants-our-nbn, Mr Dreyfus said.
