COMMUNITY GROUPS ENCOURAGED TO APPLY FOR STRONGER COMMUNITIES GRANTS
Member for Isaacs, Mark Dreyfus today announced that applications were now open for grants from RoundOne of the Stronger Communities Programme.
The Stronger Communities Programme offers grants of between $5,000 and $20,000 to incorporated community organisations looking to fund small capital projects that improve community participation and contribute to the vibrancy of Melbournes South-East, Mr Dreyfus said.
A total of $150,000 is available on a matched funding basis to local councils, sporting, not-for-profit and community groups in the Isaacs electorate.
I strongly encourage local community groups and sporting clubs that need to build new or upgrade existing facilities to apply for a grant from this programme, Mr Dreyfus said.
Applications can be made online at www.markdreyfus.com by 30 September 2015.
A community committee will then select projects for recommendation to the Department of Infrastructure, at which time the recommended community organisations will be directed to the Departments website to apply again as a recommended project.
