CHELTENHAM YOUTH CLUB JUMPS AHEAD WITH GRANT
Federal Member for Isaacs Mark Dreyfus has welcomed news that the Cheltenham Youth Club in Braeside will receive $20,000 to install an in-ground foam pit and in-ground trampoline for the use of local gymnasts.
Mr Dreyfus recommended the project for funding under the second round of the Stronger Communities Grants Programme.
This installation will be of great value to local gymnasts and young residents, Mr Dreyfus said.
The Cheltenham Youth Club in Braeside is a wonderful local organisation that offers so much to young local residents. I congratulate the club on their success in obtaining this grant, Mr Dreyfus said.
The Stronger Communities Programme provides grants between $5,000 and $20,000 and is available for projects that improve community participation and contribute to the vibrancy and viability of local communities.
Mark Dreyfus worked with a Community Advisory Committee to identify which ideas represented the best investment in our community, and then made a final recommendation on which projects should receive funding.
More information on the funding programme, including guidelines, is available at http://investment.infrastructure.gov.au/funding/scp/.
