ABBOTTS PENSION CUTS TO HURT ISAACS RESIDENTS
The Liberal Party, the National Party and the Greens Party have voted to cut the pension.
This is the culmination of Tony Abbotts relentless campaign to cut the pension. First he tried to cut pension indexation to over 7000 pensioners in Isaacs, which would have left pensioners in Isaacs as much as $80 a week worse off within a decade.
Now Tony Abbott has ripped $2.4 billion out of the pockets of pensioners.
Tony Abbott and the Greens have betrayed pensioners in the Isaacs electorate.
Pensioners in Isaacs now know that when Tony Abbott told them there would be no change to pensions, he lied.
Because of the Liberal/Greens deal, over 3000 part-pensioners in Isaacs are now at risk of losing all or part of their pension.
Some singles will lose as much as $8,000 per year, while some couples will lose as much as $14,000 per year.
Pensioners on superannuation incomes as low as $15,000 are set to lose because of these changes.
As the local member for Isaacs I voted against these cuts to the pension and I will continue to stand up for local pensioners against the Abbott Governments cuts to payments and local services.
