EDUCATION
The Albanese Labor Government is making the biggest new investment in Victorian public schools by any Australian government – ever.
That means an estimated $2.5 billion in additional Commonwealth funding to Victorian public schools over the next 10 years.
Labor has already cut $3 billion in student debt for 3 million Australians and if re-elected we’ll cut all HECS debt by 20%.
This will help more than 20,000 people in Isaacs who currently have a HECS debt.
Labor made TAFE free. A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will keep TAFE free.
Free TAFE gives thousands of young Australians the chance to learn the skills they need for essential jobs in construction, child care, health and aged care – without being weighed down by course fees.
We’ve also introduced a Commonwealth Prac Payment for teaching, nursing, midwifery and social work students. Apprentices working in residential construction will get $10,000 in extra support.
